About this role
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers, distributors, wholesalers and manufacturers.
- Source products across grocery, FMCG, F&V and other supermarket products.
- Obtain and compare vendor quotations on price, quality, margins, payment terms and delivery timeline etc
- Negotiate purchase prices, schemes, discounts, payment terms and other support with vendors.
- Monitor market prices and competitor pricing to ensure competitive buying.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) based on stock requirements and approved purchase plans.
- Coordinate and follow up with vendors for timely delivery, pending orders, vendor returns, replacements, credit notes, short supply, expired or incorrect products
- Monitor and coordinate with store team for stock levels, fast-moving/slow-moving items, reorder levels and replenishment requirements.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and store team for timely delivery, GRN, stock correction and other discrepancies.
- Ensure products meet PPDS standards on quality, quantity, MRP, expiry dates, batch details and other specifications.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, price lists, purchase orders, invoices and other purchase/ vendor related documents.
- Track vendor performance based on price, quality, service and delivery.
- Ensure purchases are within approved budgets and company procurement policies.
- Support promotional, seasonal, festival and other special-event purchasing requirements.
- Prepare regular purchase and MIS reports.
- Ensure adequate availability of products while avoiding overstocking and expiry losses.
