Purchase Executive - Pune

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities, vendor coordination, material sourcing, and purchase processes. The ideal candidate should have experience in engineering/manufacturing companies and good knowledge of mechanical components, raw materials, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchase process from requirement generation to material delivery.
• Source and identify suitable vendors/suppliers for mechanical and engineering materials.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate price, quality, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Engineering, and Accounts teams for procurement requirements.
• Follow up with vendors for material availability and delivery commitments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor documentation, quotations, POs, and other procurement-related documents.
• Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate with the Stores team to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives through vendor development, negotiation, and alternate sourcing.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and quality requirements.
• Resolve issues related to material quality, quantity, delivery, and invoices in coordination with relevant departments.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of purchase/procurement processes.
• Good understanding of mechanical components, engineering materials, fabrication items, and consumables.
• Vendor development and negotiation skills.
• Good follow-up and coordination skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/Purchase software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 35 years of relevant purchase/procurement experience in a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial company.
• Candidates with experience in mechanical/industrial equipment procurement will be preferred.
• Should be comfortable working from Chakan, Pune.
• Immediate/short notice candidates can be preferred.
