Purchase Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Source and procure electronic components and manufacturing materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers across India, China and international markets.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, MOQ, lead time and delivery.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and develop new suppliers.
• Coordinate with Engineering/Production for technical specifications and material requirements.
• Manage purchase orders, supplier follow-ups and timely material delivery.
• Monitor supplier quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Handle import and international purchase, including related documentation and logistics.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, shortage, delivery and supply.
• Maintain purchase/vendor records and update procurement activities in ERP.
• Track market pricing, component availability and alternative sourcing options.

Preferred candidate profile

• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement in an electronics manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of electronic components, ICs, LED drivers, PCB, SMPS, or power electronics preferred.
• Experience in import/international purchasing, preferably China sourcing.
• Knowledge of ERP & MS Excel.
• Strong negotiation, vendor development, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Good English communication skills and willingness to travel.
