Public Relations Specialist

We are looking for a strategic Public Relations Specialist to strengthen FLAME University's media narrative, reputation, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute PR strategies that position FLAME's research, AI initiatives, sustainability projects, academic achievements, and institutional milestones in leading media.
• Collaborate with Deans, Centre Heads, faculty, and senior leadership to identify and develop compelling news stories and thought-leadership opportunities.
• Manage the University's Tier-1 PR agency and build strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media houses.
• Drive media outreach, interviews, press releases, media events, and high-impact communication campaigns.
• Position FLAME faculty and leadership as expert voices across national and relevant industry platforms.
• Monitor media coverage, identify reputation opportunities/risks, and support crisis communication initiatives.
• Track PR outcomes and provide regular reports on media visibility and impact.

Key Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in PR, corporate communications, media relations, or a similar role.
• Strong relationships and network with national and Tier-1 media.
• Excellent writing, storytelling, communication, and media pitching skills.
• Experience managing PR agencies and senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape, reputation management, and crisis communications.
• Experience in higher education, research, technology, or institutional communications will be an advantage.
