Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-SMMHC

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide medication and psychiatric evaluations to clients in accordance with acceptable practice guidelines and licensure scope of practice under a collaborative agreement with a psychiatrist.
• Order appropriate psychotropic medications for clients when clinically indicated.
• See clients as scheduled during med clinics.
• Review and confirm clinical diagnoses and sign individual service plans.
• Authorize clinical services appropriate to the client's clinical diagnosis.
• Maintain case record documentation that is adequate, appropriate, complete, and timely.
• Attend to and participate appropriately in clinical staffing.
• Respond to client's needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Demonstrate appropriate interactions with coworkers that promote a pleasant work environment.
• Complete additional job duties assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain professional certification and/or licensure and appropriate clinical training opportunities.
• Participate in interagency collaboration for the provision of client services.
  
  

Required

Education and Qualifications

• Minimum of current APRN license, PMHNP-BC certification, licensed to practice in Mississippi, and current DEA license or ability to obtain throughout employment.
• Malpractice insurance must be maintained throughout employment.
• Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance per agency policy.
• Completion of annual training in and working knowledge of compliance with DMH standards.
  
  

Preferred

• Previous experience in an outpatient mental health setting strongly preferred.
• Advanced practice certification FNP/AGNP.
