About this role
- Relay Configuration & Parametrization: Program numerical/microprocessor-based relays using vendor software such as DIGSI, PCM, or Agile.
- Communication & SAS Integration: Configure communication protocols like IEC 61850 (GOOSE messaging, sampled values), DNP3, or Modbus.
- Fault Analysis: Investigate past power system disturbances, trip logs, and digital fault recorder (DFR) data to refine settings.
- Secondary Injection Testing: Test relay elements, pickup/drop-off thresholds, and operating times using specialized test kits (e.g., Omicron CMC, Doble, Ponovo, ISA).
- Primary Injection & Polarity Checks: Verify Current Transformer (CT) and Voltage Transformer (VT) ratios, polarities, and burden circuits.
- Wiring & Schematic Verification: Check field wiring against as-built control schematics, interlock logics, and trip-circuit supervision.
- FAT and SAT Execution: Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at the OEM workshop and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at substation sites (ranging from MV up to EHV 400kV / 765kV).
- Troubleshooting & Handover: Resolve wiring errors, commission SCADA/RTU signals, and compile final test reports, as-built records, and Minutes of Meeting (MOM)
