Job Description Proofreading / Technical Editing

Key Responsibilities

1. Understand the fundamentals of proofreading and apply standard proofreading practices.
2. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail in content and style.
3. Understand different types of deliverables and their respective style guides.
4. Follow client-provided style guides and editorial guidelines.
5. Understand proofreading requirements across different digital devices and environments.
6. Cross-check content for style, order, alignment, layout, and formatting consistency.
7. Prepare and maintain editorial documentation to ensure consistency across all modules and files within a project.
8. Review assignments for data integrity, typographical errors, and appropriate line breaks.
9. Ensure all project components for print and e-learning are completed accurately from one review round to the next, meeting internal quality metrics.
10. Proofread documents, tasks, and assignments within the specified timelines.
11. Undergo training on project processes, tools, and technical requirements.
12. Adhere to quality, confidentiality, and information security policies.
13. Comply with established quality systems, processes, training requirements, and project specifications.

Candidate Requirements

1. Graduate or postgraduate in Life Sciences or English Literature; a relevant diploma may also be considered.
2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or English.
3. 1–6 years of experience in proofreading or technical editing, with a strong command of the English language.
4. Familiarity with working on PDF documents and digital content online.
