Job Description Project Manager (Fire Safety & Security Systems)
Position: Project Manager
Department: Projects
Location: Hyderabad
Reporting To: General Manager / Director Projects
Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing fire safety and security system projects including fire alarm systems, fire fighting systems, CCTV, access control, and related ELV works. The role requires strong technical expertise, client coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects within timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute fire alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, gas suppression, CCTV, and access control projects.
- Prepare project schedules using MS Project/Primavera/Excel.
- Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Ensure project completion within approved budget and timeline.
Site Management
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections.
- Ensure quality workmanship as per NFPA / IS standards.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
Client & Consultant Coordination
- Attend project review meetings with clients and consultants.
- Handle technical discussions and approvals.
- Submit project progress reports.
- Resolve site issues and variation orders.
Commercial & Cost Control
- Monitor project budget and cost control.
- Approve material indent and vendor payments.
- Manage billing, RA bills, and final settlements.
- Handle change management and claims.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure preparation of shop drawings and as-built drawings.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Ensure statutory compliance and safety regulations.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities.
Safety & Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and PPE usage.
- Implement quality assurance processes.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
- 7–12 years of experience in Fire & Safety / Security Projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Sprinkler & Hydrant Systems
- Gas Suppression Systems
- CCTV & Access Control
