Project Manager / Technical Lead

Job Summary

The Project Manager / Technical Lead will be responsible for leading the end-to-end development and commercialization of CSIR-CSIO technologies, including the Induction Motor Stethoscope (MSCOPE), Portable & Universal Motor-Cum-Pump Performance Monitor (PU-MPPM), and Power Quality Analyzer (PQA). The role requires strong technical leadership, project management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful product development, testing, certification, and market launch.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead cross-functional product development teams.
• Monitor project progress and manage project risks.
• Ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
• Conduct weekly project review meetings.
• Coordinate with CSIR-CSIO for technology transfer activities, technical clarifications, and progress reviews.
• Track project costs and optimize resource utilization.

Technical Leadership

• Define overall product architecture.
• Review hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software designs.
• Ensure seamless integration of all product modules.
• Guide engineers in solving complex technical issues.
• Conduct design reviews and technical audits.
• Drive product innovation and continuous improvement.

Product Development

• Lead prototype development through production release.
• Define product specifications and technical requirements.
• Ensure design compliance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate product validation and field trials.
• Support manufacturing and product industrialization.

Team Management

• Mentor hardware, firmware, software, and testing engineers.
• Allocate tasks and monitor team performance.
• Identify training needs and build technical capabilities.
• Foster collaboration across engineering teams.

Additional Skills & Responsibilities

Technical Skills

• Project planning and execution using Azure DevOps for work item tracking, sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and project reporting.
• Proficiency in Git for source code management, branch strategy, code reviews, pull requests, version control, and release management.
• Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with embedded systems architecture and product lifecycle management.
• Industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN, Ethernet, MQTT, OPC UA).
• Analog and digital electronics, sensor interfacing, and data acquisition systems.
• Power quality measurement, motor diagnostics, vibration analysis, and pump performance monitoring.
• Embedded C/C++, Python, and scripting for automation and testing.
• System integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Risk management, configuration management, and technical documentation.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Manage project execution using Azure DevOps dashboards, boards, repositories, pipelines, and project reporting.
• Establish and enforce Git branching strategies, code review processes, and release workflows.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Define project roadmaps, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor project progress using Agile metrics such as sprint velocity, burndown charts, and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Quality & Compliance

• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and adherence to quality processes and documentation practices.
• Awareness of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and environmentally responsible engineering practices.
• Basic understanding of ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System) and data security best practices.
• Ability to follow organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to quality, environmental, and information security standards.
• Support CE, EMC, and electrical safety certification activities.
• Review technical documentation and engineering change requests.
• Ensure proper design verification and validation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in product development and technical project management.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, industrial automation, and IoT-based products.
