Programme Manager -Job Fair in a Box & Employment Events

Role & Responsibilities

ABACUS Consultants / GRD Getting Recruitment Done is building Job Fair in a Box, a structured employment-event model connecting employers, colleges/universities and candidates through technology-enabled job fairs and placement initiatives.

We are looking for an energetic Programme Manager who can independently ideate, plan, organise and execute job fairs, employment events and placement drives from concept to completion.

The person will be responsible for:

• Plan and execute physical, hybrid and technology-enabled Job Fairs and employment events.
  • Develop complete event plans covering timelines, venue, logistics, manpower, vendors, budgets and execution responsibilities.
  • Onboard and coordinate participating companies/MSMEs and their job requirements.
  • Build relationships with colleges, universities, training institutions and placement cells for candidate participation.
  • Coordinate candidate mobilisation, registration, communication, scheduling and event-day movement.
  • Work closely with employers for screening, interviews, selection, joining and post-event follow-up.
  • Manage vendors for venue, branding, printing, technology, hospitality, equipment and other event requirements.
  • Coordinate internal recruitment, technology and operations teams for smooth execution.
  • Conduct employer briefings, institutional meetings, workshops and pre-event coordination.
  • Track event outcomes including employers onboarded, jobs available, candidates registered, interviews conducted, selections and joinings.
  • Prepare event MIS, reports, budgets, feedback and improvement plans.
  • Identify operational gaps and continuously improve the Job Fair in a Box model.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of planning + stakeholder coordination + event execution + employment outcomes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 4–8 years of relevant experience in Event Management, Programme Management, Job Fairs, Placement Drives, Recruitment Events or Institutional Events.
  • Candidates with hands-on experience independently organising medium/large-scale events will be preferred.
  • Experience working with corporates, colleges/universities, placement cells, training institutions or recruitment organisations will be an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder, vendor and team-management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, follow-up, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple activities, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel/MIS, presentations and event reporting.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to build a new initiative from the ground up.
  • MBA/PGDM or Graduate/Postgraduate in Event Management, Marketing, HR, Management or a related field preferred.
