Job Description

CGC University, Mohali invites applications from experienced and research-oriented legal academics for the position of Professor / Associate Professor Law.

The role involves teaching, research, academic leadership, student development, industry engagement, and contribution to institutional academic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Excellence
2. Deliver UG, PG and Ph.D.-level courses in Law.
3. Develop industry- and practice-oriented curricula aligned with NEP 2020 and evolving legal frameworks.
4. Employ innovative pedagogies including case studies, moot courts and clinical legal education.
5. Guide students in research, dissertations, internships and academic projects.

Research & Publications

1. Conduct impactful research in specialized areas of Law.
2. Publish research in Scopus / UGC CARE-listed journals.
3. Pursue funded research, consultancy and interdisciplinary projects.
4. Contribute to books, policy papers and legal research reports.
5. Academic Leadership
6. Contribute to departmental planning, academic strategy and institutional development.
7. Mentor faculty members and strengthen the research culture.
8. Lead initiatives related to NAAC, NBA, NIRF and quality assurance.
9. Organize conferences, seminars, workshops and academic forums.
10. Student Development & Industry Engagement
11. Mentor students for careers, higher education and professional opportunities.
12. Support moot courts, legal aid clinics, competitions and internships.
13. Build meaningful collaborations with law firms, judiciary and corporate legal departments.
14. Contribute to university committees, governance, outreach and academic initiatives.

Eligibility / Qualification

1. Ph.D. in Law Mandatory
2. LL.M. with minimum 55% marks
3. Minimum 12 years of teaching/research experience, including at least 3 years as Associate Professor
4. Strong research profile with publications in reputed Scopus-indexed journals
5. Proven experience in Ph.D. supervision and research guidance
6. Preferred Profile
