Job Description Job Responsibilities:

• Build infrastructure to: -
• Import and run portfolios in our catastrophe risk modeling platform RQE (via API that already exists)
• Harvest the RQE results – extract to csv
• Leverage free third party libraries e.g. matplotplib/bokeh/plotly to build visualizations (maps, charts) and potentially embed them in documents
• Work closely with the scientists/modelers to define the requirements of the infrastructure and ongoing enhancements
• Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts
• Anticipate/identify issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals, and implement corrective actions
• Foster and maintain good relationships with other teams within Cotality to meet expected delivery dates and service levels
• Technologies: + Python, third party libraries e.g. marimo/jupyter notebooks, matplotplib/bokeh/plotly, geopandas, to build visualizations (maps, charts), git, Windows and Linux, MSSQL, GCP

Job Qualifications Job Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related STEM field
• 3+ years of experience writing and debugging production software in Python
• Experience with third party libraries to build visualizations (maps, charts)
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial libraries for raster and vector processing
• Fundamental knowledge of natural hazard catastrophe models
• Knowledge and experience with SQL and relational databases
• Basic experience with cloud (i.e. GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Basic understanding of statistics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated, self-driven, and team player
• GenAI experience is plus.
• Should have hands on experience in machine learning and deep learning
