Production Support / SRE Engineer Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Support / Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Engineer to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications and systems. The candidate will be responsible for production monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system reliability.

The role requires strong technical expertise in application support, infrastructure monitoring, automation, and incident response, with a focus on minimising downtime and maintaining service stability.

• Monitor production applications, infrastructure, and services to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

• Manage production incidents, troubleshoot issues, and restore services within defined SLAs.

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.

• Perform application, system, and infrastructure troubleshooting across distributed environments.

• Develop scripts and automation tools to reduce manual operational tasks and improve support efficiency.

• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions.

• Support application deployments, release management, and production change activities.

• Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and database teams to resolve complex technical issues.

• Monitor system capacity, performance, scalability, and resource utilisation.

• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, incident reports, and knowledge repositories.

• Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely support for critical production issues.

• Drive continuous improvements in system reliability, operational resilience, and service delivery.

• Experience in production support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or application operations.

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.

• Understanding of application architecture, networking, databases, and distributed systems.

• Experience with incident management, problem management, and change management.

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and DevOps practices.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple production incidents.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
