Production Support Analyst

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Support Engineer with strong expertise in Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for application production support, incident management, troubleshooting, monitoring, and ensuring smooth operation of business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for applications and systems.
• Monitor application health and proactively identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot incidents, analyze root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
• Execute and maintain Shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
• Perform SQL queries, data validation, and database troubleshooting.
• Support application deployments, releases, and environment management activities.
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in on-call support and production outage management.
• Prepare incident reports, RCA documents, and support documentation.
• Ensure adherence to SLA, operational processes, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience in application support and production incident management.
• Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot performance issues, and resolve application errors.
• Understanding of batch scheduling and job monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ITIL processes.
• Knowledge of Autosys, Control-M, or similar scheduling tools.
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant experience in Application/Production Support environments.
