Key Responsibilities & Duties
Shop-Floor Supervision & Target Execution:
Direct daily shifts, assign tasks to operators, and maintain smooth line flow to meet target production volumes.
Monitor shift logs, machine output, and line progress in real-time to avoid bottlenecks.
Quality Control & Rejection Reduction:
Perform regular inline quality checks to ensure products meet required dimensional and technical specifications.
Identify defect causes early to minimize rework, scrap, and material wastage.
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to address shift-level non-conformances (NCs).
Equipment & Downtime Management:
Coordinate with the Maintenance department to perform routine preventive maintenance and resolve sudden equipment breakdowns quickly.
Ensure machine setup and tooling changes are executed efficiently between production runs.
Workforce & Line Discipline:
Manage operator shift attendance, line allocation, overtime, and break schedules.
Enforce shop-floor discipline, 5S cleanliness, and strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety rules.
Train new operators and technicians on machine operation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
Reporting & Material Tracking:
Prepare daily shift production reports, hourly output trackers, downtime records, and rejection logs.
Coordinate with store and material handlers to ensure raw materials and components are staged at workstations on time.
