About this role
- Supervise batch blending and grease-kettle/reactor operations end-to-end charging, heating, saponification/cook cycle, additive dosing, homogenising, milling, de-aeration and batch closure strictly per the approved formulation SOPs for each SKU across the NEX, Fortis, Endura and Bastion ranges.
- Execute production against the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) for each batch, respecting every SOP hold point, and stopping/holding the batch for QC sign-off at each stage as required.
- Coordinate in real time with the QC/Testing Officer for in-process approvals and finished-batch release; initiate and support deviation/non-conformance handling when a batch is out of specification.
- Manage the filling line drum/pail/can filling, batch-wise labelling and traceability coding, and compatibility-matrix-driven line changeovers between grades.
- Plan and control raw-material issue, batch yield and wastage; keep production running to the dispatch schedule and escalate material shortages in time.
- Enforce safety on the shop floor hot-oil and kettle safety, PPE, safe handling of chemicals/additives, fire safety and housekeeping (5S) — and ensure statutory EHS compliance.
- Train, guide and supervise plant operators and helpers; manage shift rosters and on-the-job skill development.
- Maintain daily production MIS, batch sheets, downtime/yield records, and report production status to the Plant Head / GM — Lubricants & Greases Division.
- Experienced in manufacturing Polyurea, Calcium Sulfonate, Synthetic greases, Chain Oils, Synthetic gear Oils.
