Production Planning - Asst. Manager/ Manager

Role Purpose - Responsible for production planning, material planning and coordination across functions to ensure optimum capacity utilization, material availability and on-time delivery. The role will also be contributing for establishing and driving the S&OP process across Sales, Production, Purchase, Inventory and Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning: Develop and maintain production plans for multiple SKUs based on demand, sales orders, inventory, capacity and delivery requirements.
• S&OP: Establish and drive the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process, including demand review, supply/capacity planning, gap identification, scenario planning and management review.
• Process Orders: Prepare and release process/production orders and monitor execution against the approved production plan.
• MRP & Material Planning: Run and analyse MRP, identify material gaps and coordinate with Purchase to ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials.
• Capacity Planning: Analyse machine/manpower capacity, bottlenecks and constraints and incorporate them into production plans.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with Sales, Production, QA, QC, Purchase, Stores and Dispatch to align priorities and ensure adherence to customer commitments.
• R&D / Sample Planning: Plan and coordinate R&D/sample production requirements without disrupting regular production plans.
• SAP: Ensure accurate planning, process-order and inventory data in SAP; use SAP reports for planning and decision-making.
• Inventory & Working Capital: Monitor RM/WIP/FG inventory levels and identify opportunities to reduce excess and slow-moving inventory while maintaining service levels.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track plan vs. actual production, schedule adherence, material availability, order fulfilment and key planning KPIs.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify planning bottlenecks and implement improvements in scheduling, MRP, inventory, capacity utilisation and planning processes

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering; MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience: 58 years in Production Planning/PPC, in a manufacturing environment with multiple SKUs.
• Strong hands-on experience in MRP, production scheduling, capacity planning and inventory planning.
• Good working knowledge of SAP PP/MM; experience in SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
• Should have experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Purchase, Production, Stores and Quality.
• S&OP experience is strongly preferred; candidates who have actually implemented or driven an S&OP process should be prioritised.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good stakeholder-management capability.
