Production Officer

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Production Officer to manage day-to-day production activities in our Mattress Manufacturing Division. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining quality, productivity, safety, and optimum utilization of manpower and machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily production activities as per production targets and schedules.
• Monitor production processes to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
• Supervise and manage shop-floor manpower and allocate work according to production requirements.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and other resources.
• Monitor production output, productivity, rejection, wastage, and downtime.
• Ensure products are manufactured as per defined quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, PPC, and other departments for smooth production operations.
• Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions to improve productivity.
• Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, rejection reports, and other relevant production records.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, 5S, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
• Implement process improvements and support initiatives for reducing wastage and improving efficiency.
• Train and guide operators/workers on process requirements, quality standards, and safe working practices.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and discipline on the shop floor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and productivity improvement.
• Ensure timely completion of production plans while maintaining required quality and safety standards.

• Good manpower handling and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and basic production techniques.
• Ability to analyze production data and identify areas for improvement.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Willingness to work in shifts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, disciplined, target-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing shop-floor environment. Candidates with experience in mattress, foam, furniture, textile, industries will be preferred.
