ROLE – OPERATIONS MANAGER  / Production MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

Factory Manager is responsible for overall development, performance and maintenance of the factory’s activities such as production, maintenance, tooling, warehouse, logistics and safety to obtain the maximum efficiency, production, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.

He is also expected to develop and implement policies and ensure to meet production goals on time and within budget.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Manage, direct and monitor factory functions such as production, maintenance, tooling, warehouse, logistics and safety ensuring high quality business activities with maximum efficiency, production, service and profitability for the organisation.
• Encourage best Practices, Kaizen etc focussing on continuous improvement of operations. Play a key role in all kinds of Certifications.
• Improve mechanisms for factory operations and activities, including surveying the operations, processes, outcomes and profitability.
• Create work schedules, assign tasks and coordinate production activities. Allocate resources, such as equipment and personnel, to maintain production standards.
• Establish and implement workflow policies and SOPs that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity.
• Develops and implements master production schedule i.e. monthly, weekly and daily rolling plan to establish sequence and lead time of plant operations.
• Planning and organizing production schedules, machine plan, manpower allocation with best resource for the smooth working of the factory.
• Manage tooling function and ensure best possible sources, better life and replenishment of tools.
• Collaborating with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes.
• Develop and implementing machinery maintenance operating procedures and ensure efficient working of machine without breakdown.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and identify ways to reduce them.
• Impart Training, coaching, motivate, and provide general support of all team members while adhering to all safety, performance, and environmental standards.
• Maintain electronic records of all material, production, inventory, and labour to ensure cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and supervise all warehouse and logistics operations. Play a key role in making efficient inventory procedures, replenishment and logistics strength.
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
• Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets and submitting such MIS them to key decision-makers.
• Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective agreements.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business administration or related field.
• Proven experience of at least 5+ years working as a Factory Manager, Plant Manager, or a similar position in the Facilities department
• Coach and mentor process improvement staff and conduct process improvement training
• Hands on experience in best practices such as TQM, Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing and more.
