Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

Technical Knowledge :

• Strong knowledge of Injection Moulding processes and plastic processing.
• Knowledge of injection moulding machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time.
• Knowledge of mould setup, mould changeover, troubleshooting, and basic mould maintenance.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot common injection moulding defects such as short moulding, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and dimensional variation.
• Knowledge of plastic raw materials and their applications.
• Knowledge of machine capacity, cycle time, productivity, rejection, and OEE.
• Knowledge of GMP, 5S, Kaizen, SOPs, and process controls.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485:2016 requirements and medical-device manufacturing practices will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Manage injection moulding and other production operations.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle time, rejection, downtime, and productivity.
• Ensure proper machine parameter setting and process control.
• Coordinate mould changeovers and production planning.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Minimize rejection, wastage, downtime, and production losses.
• Ensure compliance with approved SOPs, work instructions, GMP, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, PPC, Purchase, and HR departments.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production activities.
• Train and develop operators and supervisors.
• Drive continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Support ISO 13485 audits and ensure production-related compliance.

Preferred Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment (minimum 7 to 10 years in managerial cadre).
• Experience in plastic injection moulding and medical device manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in handling production teams, shift operations, moulding machines, and production planning.
