Production Manager (Solar Junction Box)

Role & responsibilities

• Set up the junction box line from zero: layout, machine selection and commissioning (molding, diode assembly, soldering, potting, crimping, testing).
• Run daily production against plan and own the numbers: output, first-pass yield, line efficiency, scrap, and conversion cost per unit.
• Own quality and certification: IEC 62790, UL 3730 (export) and Bureau of Indian Standards; 100% electrical testing; zero field failures.
• Build and train the team of supervisors, operators and technicians; write standard operating procedures for every station.
• Develop and qualify vendors for diodes, housings, connectors and potting compound with purchase; control inventory.
• Support customer audits and sample approvals with solar module makers; lead root-cause analysis on complaints.
• Drive safety, 5S and preventive maintenance; extend the plant's ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems to the new division.
• Report monthly production, cost and capacity data to management and plan capacity expansion as orders grow.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical),

Master of Business Administration (Operations) or Six Sigma Black Belt

Experience

10 to 15 years in component manufacturing, at least 5 in solar junction box, connector or module production, with one new line start-up.
