We are an expanding industrial manufacturing organization in our group companies establishing new production lines for specialized resin and chemical formulations in West Africa.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Chemical Engineer / Polymer Chemist / R&D & Production Lead to oversee technical product development, recipe scaling, and daily plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities
- Product Formulation & R&D
- Develop and refine formulations for water-based (VAM/PVA emulsions) wood glues, solvent-borne PVC adhesives, and polymer-modified construction chemical products.
- Plant Operations & Scaling
- Scale laboratory test batches to commercial reactor production while ensuring viscosity, solids percentage, and bond strength meet international standards.
- Quality & Cost Control
- Manage raw material testing, recipe optimization, and shop-floor troubleshooting to maximize yield and control material costs.
- EHS & Maintenance
- Oversee reactor vessel maintenance, batch reporting, safety protocols, and plant technical staff.
Required Skills
Adhesives, Polymer Chemistry, Emulsion polymerization, and Chemical production
- Languages
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
