Production Manager / Assistant Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production activities of IV Fluid manufacturing.
• Ensure adherence to approved production plans and schedules.
• Monitor batch manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
• Optimize production efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment productivity.
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GDP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain audit readiness for internal, customer, and regulatory inspections.
• Review and approve production documentation.
• Coordinate CAPA implementation related to production observations and deviations.
• Lead and supervise production supervisors, shift in-charges, and operators.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
• Promote a culture of quality, discipline, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure adequate manpower planning and shift management.
• Coordinate with QA and QC departments for batch release activities.
• Investigate deviations, OOS incidents, and production-related complaints.
• Ensure accurate documentation and data integrity practices.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Engineering Department.
• Monitor equipment performance and support qualification and validation activities.
• Ensure production equipment remains in validated status.
• Coordinate raw material and packaging material requirements.
• Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
• Ensure proper reconciliation of materials.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and safe work practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.
• Drive initiatives for productivity enhancement and cost reduction.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence projects.
• Monitor KPIs and recommend process improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• 10-15 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role handling IV Fluids / Large Volume Parenteral (LVP) production.
• Experience in aseptic manufacturing, BFS (Blow-Fill-Seal) technology, or FFS systems preferred.
• Exposure to WHO-GMP, EU-GMP, PIC/S, or similar regulatory requirements.
