Production Head

Role & Responsibilities

• Assess production requirements, resources, manpower, and capacity to meet business objectives.
• Plan, organize, and execute production schedules in line with sales forecasts and customer demand.
• Ensure smooth, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations to achieve production targets.
• Monitor and improve productivity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, and manufacturing costs.
• Identify and resolve production-related technical issues, manpower challenges, and operational bottlenecks.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, workplace safety, and company procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and waste reduction.
• Coordinate with Quality, Stores, Purchase, Maintenance, and R&D teams for smooth operations and new product launches.
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of machines, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in coordination with the Maintenance team.
• Monitor and reduce rejection, rework, scrap, and production losses.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production MIS reports to Top Management.
• Lead, guide, and develop production supervisors, team leaders, and shop-floor operators.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in production planning, shop-floor management, and execution within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive components.
• Strong understanding of production processes, manpower planning, capacity utilization, and productivity improvement.
• Experience in managing production lines, OEE, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Ability to analyze production data, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams for NPD, product launches, and process improvements.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team-management skills.
• Proficiency in production MIS, Excel, and manufacturing performance reporting.
