Production Head - Injection Moulding

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Head with strong expertise in injection moulding operations to lead and manage the overall production activities. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, process optimization, manpower management, quality control, and ensuring efficient utilization of machines and resources to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall injection moulding production operations, ensuring achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
• Develop and implement production plans in coordination with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials departments.
• Monitor injection moulding machines, cycle times, process parameters, and machine utilization to improve production efficiency.
• Ensure proper mould setting, machine setup, process parameter optimization, and troubleshooting of moulding defects.
• Identify and resolve production issues related to short moulding, flash, sink marks, warpage, dimensional variations, and other process defects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, cycle time, downtime, and production costs.
• Manage manpower allocation, shift planning, and performance monitoring of production teams.
• Ensure effective utilization of machines, moulds, raw materials, and other production resources.
• Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance teams to ensure product quality, preventive maintenance, and uninterrupted production.
• Monitor key production performance indicators such as OEE, productivity, rejection rate, downtime, and on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, safety standards, quality systems, and manufacturing procedures.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring production issues.
• Prepare and review production reports, performance dashboards, and improvement plans for management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in injection moulding production management.
• Hands-on knowledge of injection moulding machines, moulds, tooling, and process parameters.
• Experience in handling engineering plastics such as ABS, PP, PC, PA, PBT, and other polymer materials.
• Knowledge of injection moulding process optimization, troubleshooting, and defect analysis.
• Experience in production planning, manpower management, and shop-floor operations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, OEE, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Good coordination, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in automotive or engineering plastic component manufacturing will be an added advantage.
