Production Engineer Sheet Metal Fabrication

Roles & Responsibilities Production Engineer (Sheet Metal Fabrication / Heavy Engineering)

• Plan, monitor, and control daily production activities related to heavy sheet metal fabrication.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
• Supervise fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, fitting, and assembly.
• Coordinate with fitters, welders, machine operators, and other production staff to achieve production targets.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy, product quality, and compliance with drawing specifications.
• Monitor material consumption, manpower utilization, and production schedules.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with the Quality Control and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
• Ensure timely completion of jobs while maintaining productivity and minimizing material wastage.
• Maintain production records, daily progress reports, and job-wise manufacturing status.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping on the shop floor.
• Process Improvement (5S / Lean): Drive cycle-time reduction, workplace organization (5S), scrap control, and kaizen initiatives to enhance shop-floor efficiency.
