Production - Automatic Door System (Railways)

Role & responsibilities

1. Plan and manage production schedules to meet project timelines and delivery commitments

2. Oversee manufacturing and assembly of automatic door systems (mechanical, electrical, and control integration)

3. Ensure compliance with railway standards, safety norms, and quality requirements

4. Optimize manpower, machines, and materials for efficient production

5. Coordinate with Design, Quality, SCM, and Project teams for seamless execution

6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)

7. Monitor production KPIs such as productivity, rejection rates, and on-time delivery

8. Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, work instructions, and process controls

9. Handle production-related audits (internal, customer, IRIS, etc.)

10. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions

11. Manage vendor coordination for outsourced processes/components

12. Ensure workplace safety and compliance with EHS standards

13. Support new product introduction (NPI), prototyping, and pilot runs

Develop and train production team members

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of automatic door system assembly, mechanisms, and control integration

Understanding of railway standards (EN 14752, IR standards, safety compliance)

Expertise in production planning, line balancing, and capacity planning

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Infor LN) and MS Excel

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma tools

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, FMEA, RCA, CAPA)
