About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Understand, analyse, and document software requirements and testing scope.
- Prepare test strategies, test plans, test cases, test data, and test reports.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and load testing.
- Prepare testbeds and execute test cases across 3G, 4G, and 5G network environments.
- Test telecom protocols and interfaces, including SS7, SIGTRAN, IP, SCCP, M3UA, and TCAP.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
- Perform code coverage analysis and support debugging using appropriate tools.
- Develop and maintain test automation using suitable frameworks and scripting languages.
- Collaborate with development, product, and network teams to resolve issues and deliver quality releases.
- Ask relevant technical questions, clarify requirements, and communicate risks and test results clearly.
Technical / Functional Competencies
- Software testing concepts, test strategy, test case authoring, test execution, and defect lifecycle management.
- SDLC and requirements understanding, gathering, and analysis.
- Telecom domain knowledge, including 3G, 4G, and 5G network nodes and architecture.
- Protocol stack knowledge: SS7, SIGTRAN, IP, SCCP, M3UA, and TCAP.
- Load testing and performance testing.
- Testbed preparation and environment configuration.
- Code coverage and debugging tools: JUnit, JMeter, JaCoCo, GDB, and Valgrind.
- Test automation tools and frameworks: Selenium, Robot Framework, Sahi, Postman, Rest Assured, and Appium.
- Scripting and programming languages: Python, Perl, Shell, Java, and PHP.
- Relational databases: MySQL, Oracle, and MariaDB.
- Operating systems, virtualisation, and web servers, including Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server.
Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in software testing, telecom testing, test automation, performance testing, or quality assurance.

- Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver results within timelines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to understand customer and product requirements and translate them into effective test coverage.

- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with Development, Product, Network, and Delivery teams.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Telecom testing or software quality assurance experience is preferred.
Mandatory Skills
- Software testing and test execution.
- Test case design, test strategy, and defect lifecycle management.
- Telecom protocols: SCCP, M3UA, SS7, SIGTRAN, IP, and TCAP.
- Load testing and test automation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous testing practices.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, or similar build and source-control tools.
- Experience analysing logs, troubleshooting distributed systems, and debugging production-like environments.
- Knowledge of API testing and web-service validation.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
