Job Description Product Specialist | IBM Software Role Overview Redington is looking for an experienced, technically strong, and business-oriented IBM Software Product Specialist to independently manage end-to-end presales activities across India. The candidate will be responsible for technical solutioning, customer and partner engagements, demonstrations, POCs, BOQ preparation, OEM coordination, and supporting business growth through licensing and services opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Presales Ownership: Independently manage IBM Software presales activities across India, supporting regional sales teams, partners, and enterprise customers.
• Solution Architecture: Understand customer requirements, design solutions, prepare technical proposals, BOQs, sizing, and licensing recommendations.
• Demonstrations & POCs: Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, POCs, and solution workshops.
• Partner Enablement: Conduct technical training, webinars, and enablement sessions for channel partners and internal sales teams.
• Business Contribution: Support opportunity qualification, technical closure, cross-selling, and revenue generation.
• OEM Coordination: Work closely with IBM technical and product teams for complex solution requirements and escalations.
• Services Development: Identify implementation, consulting, migration, training, and managed services opportunities.
• Technical Governance: Maintain presales reporting, technical documentation, opportunity tracking, and standardized processes.

Required Technical Expertise Candidates should have strong expertise in at least two of the following IBM technology areas, with working knowledge of the broader portfolio. Technology Domain Key IBM Solutions Security & Identity Guardium, Verify, QRadar, MaaS360 Automation & Observability Instana, Turbonomic, Cloud Pak for AIOps, Maximo Data & AI watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, Db2 Integration & Middleware API Connect, MQ, App Connect, web Methods Business Automation watsonx Orchestrate, Business Automation, watsonx Code Assistant

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7-8 years of enterprise IT experience, including 45 years in technical presales or solution architecture.
• Strong experience with IBM Software or comparable enterprise technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in solution design, demonstrations, POCs, sizing, and BOQ preparation.
• Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, hybrid cloud, security, automation, and AI technologies.
• Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, channel partners, and enterprise customers.
• Strong communication, technical presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple technical opportunities across India.
• Relevant IBM technical certifications will be an added advantage.

Ideal Candidate A hands-on IBM technical presales professional with strong solution architecture capabilities, commercial awareness, and the ability to independently drive nationwide technical engagements. The candidate should be capable of owning the complete presales lifecycle, strengthening partner technical capabilities, and contributing to both software licensing and services revenue. Primary Objective: Establish a strong, independent, and business-focused IBM Software presales function for Redington across India.
