Job Summary
The Product Manager / Product Owner Billing & Revenue Cycle will own and continuously improve the billing capabilities of MaximEyes, First Insight’s EHR and Practice Management System, while also playing a key product role in EVAA Billing Assistant, the company’s AI- and RPA-powered billing automation platform. The role will have a strong mandate to harness AI and intelligent automation to make billing workflows faster, more accurate, more predictive, and increasingly touchless.
This is a highly hands-on product role requiring deep expertise in the U.S. healthcare billing lifecycle, preferably within optometry and ophthalmology. The successful candidate will identify billing product issues, define solutions, write detailed requirements, work closely with engineering and QA, validate fixes, and continuously look for opportunities to use AI, automation, workflow intelligence, and data-driven decisioning to eliminate manual work and improve billing outcomes.
The role will also help build EVAA Billing Assistant into a scalable, AI-first automation platform capable of integrating with MaximEyes and other leading eye-care EHR/PMS platforms used in the market. The goal is to automate as much of the end-to-end billing lifecycle as practical while retaining appropriate human oversight for exceptions and high-risk decisions.
The ideal candidate combines deep billing subject-matter expertise with EHR/PMS product management, product ownership, healthcare workflow knowledge, and a strong understanding of how AI, RPA, APIs, intelligent agents, and workflow automation can be applied to healthcare billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the billing product roadmap for MaximEyes and related First Insight products, prioritizing enhancements based on customer impact, revenue impact, operational efficiency, regulatory requirements, strategic importance, and the opportunity to leverage AI and automation to remove repetitive work.
- Serve as the primary billing subject-matter expert and product owner for MaximEyes, with deep knowledge of patient registration, insurance, eligibility, benefits, authorization, charge capture, coding, claims, clearinghouse workflows, rejections, denials, corrections, secondary billing, coordination of benefits, payment posting, ERA/EOB, patient responsibility, adjustments, refunds, A/R, aging, follow-up, unused benefits, reconciliation, statements, and reporting.
- Investigate complex billing problems, reproduce product defects, determine root cause, and define systemic product solutions rather than one-off workarounds.
- Work directly with engineering, QA, AI/ML, and automation teams to define requirements, acceptance criteria, business rules, workflow specifications, test scenarios, and release validation for billing functionality, including AI-assisted and automated workflows.
- Own the product development of EVAA Billing Assistant, including eligibility verification, benefits verification, unused benefits verification, claim preparation and submission, claim-status checking, rejection handling, claim correction and resubmission, payment posting, ERA/EOB processing, reconciliation, A/R workflows, denials, and automated follow-up, with a focus on maximizing the percentage of these activities that can be intelligently automated.
- Determine which billing processes should be automated using AI, intelligent agents, RPA, rules-based automation, APIs, or a combination of technologies. Define where AI can interpret information, make recommendations or decisions, predict outcomes, detect anomalies, and initiate actions, while establishing appropriate human-in-the-loop controls, auditability, and exception-handling processes.
- Build a practical AI-first product strategy for billing: identify repetitive, rules-heavy, data-heavy, and exception-driven workflows that can be transformed into intelligent agents and automated processes; define measurable targets for touchless processing, accuracy, cycle time, and revenue impact; and continuously learn from production data to improve automation.
- Work with engineering, AI/ML, and integration teams to design EVAA integrations across MaximEyes, RevolutionEHR, Compulink, OfficeMate, Eyefinity, ModMed, Acuity Logic, and other relevant EHR/PMS platforms, using APIs, automation, AI agents, and other integration methods wherever practical.
- Understand how billing data flows between EHR/PMS systems, clearinghouses, payers, RCM platforms, payment systems, and EVAA, and translate those workflows into scalable product requirements that enable AI-driven data extraction, validation, workflow orchestration, exception detection, and automated action.
- Participate in customer discovery with practice administrators, billers, RCM professionals, physicians, and practice owners to identify real-world billing pain points and determine where AI and automation can deliver measurable improvements in productivity, accuracy, collections, and user experience.
- Create and maintain PRDs, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, workflow diagrams, and product backlogs; participate in sprint planning, refinement, demos, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Partner closely with Engineering, QA, Product, UX/UI, AI/ML, RPA/automation, Implementation, Customer Support, RCM, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership, acting as the functional authority on billing and the product champion for intelligent automation across the billing lifecycle.
- Maintain current knowledge of U.S. healthcare billing practices, payer requirements, electronic claims, clearinghouses, coding and reimbursement rules, Medicare and commercial payer workflows, denials, coordination of benefits, HIPAA-related considerations, and other applicable healthcare requirements.
- Continuously evaluate competing EHR/PMS and RCM billing capabilities, AI-enabled healthcare solutions, and emerging automation technologies, and identify opportunities for MaximEyes and EVAA to deliver superior billing functionality, intelligent automation, and differentiated AI-powered workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, EHR/PMS, healthcare IT, or healthcare software.
- Significant hands-on experience with U.S. healthcare insurance billing, preferably in optometry, ophthalmology, or another physician-practice environment.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end medical/vision billing lifecycle.
- Proven experience working with an EHR or Practice Management System.
- Strong understanding of eligibility, benefits, claims, claim submission, rejections, denials, payment posting, ERA/EOB, A/R, and insurance workflows.
- Experience translating complex billing workflows into software requirements, including requirements for AI-enabled workflows, automation, decision engines, integrations, and working with engineering and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum product environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex product issues, determine root cause, evaluate where AI or automation can solve the underlying problem, and measure the resulting business impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare workflows and payer processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically with optometry or ophthalmology billing.
- Experience with one or more eye-care EHR/PMS platforms such as MaximEyes, RevolutionEHR, Compulink, OfficeMate, Eyefinity, ModMed, Acuity Logic, or similar systems.
- Experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Billing SME, RCM Manager, or EHR implementation specialist, preferably with ownership of AI-enabled or automated healthcare workflows.
- Experience building or implementing healthcare billing automation, intelligent workflows, AI agents, RPA, or other technologies designed to reduce manual revenue-cycle work.
- Experience with AI, generative AI, AI agents, RPA, workflow automation, intelligent decisioning, machine learning, or other automation technologies, with an understanding of how to apply them responsibly in healthcare workflows.
- Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Experience with clearinghouses and electronic claims.
- Experience with healthcare payment processing.
- Experience working with healthcare SaaS products.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is not simply a traditional Product Manager/Product Owner. We are looking for someone who can sit with a billing specialist and understand a complex claim problem, sit with an engineer and explain exactly what the software needs to do, sit with a customer and understand the operational pain point, and work with AI/ML and automation teams to determine how the process can be intelligently automated end-to-end.
This person should be able to answer questions such as: Why did this claim fail? What should MaximEyes have done differently? What data is required to automate this workflow?
Can AI interpret the available information and determine the next best action? Can the process be automated using an AI agent, RPA, rules, an API, or a combination of technologies? What should happen when the automation encounters an exception? How do we make the workflow work across multiple EHR/PMS platforms?
The successful candidate should have the credibility to be recognized internally and externally as a billing and revenue-cycle product authority, while also becoming a strong advocate for using AI and automation to transform the economics and operating model of healthcare billing.
Key Success Metrics

- Reduction in claim rejection and denial rates attributable to product/workflow issues.
- Improvement in clean claim rates.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Degree in healthcare administration, business, information systems, computer science, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant healthcare billing, RCM, coding, EHR/PMS, or product-management certifications are a plus.
Location & Working Model
Location: India
The role requires close collaboration with teams across U.S. and India time zones and may require occasional travel for customer meetings, industry events, product discovery, and
