About The Role Alaan is building the Middle East’s leading spend management platform, helping businesses control expenses, automate financial operations, and make smarter financial decisions. As we scale, we're investing heavily in the foundational systems that power our products and enable teams to move quickly while maintaining security, reliability, and compliance. We're looking for a Product Manager – Platform to own the core infrastructure and shared services that underpin the Alaan ecosystem. This includes identity and access management, permissions, authentication, user management, platform capabilities, and other foundational systems that every product team depends on. In this role, you'll define product strategy, drive execution, and partner closely with engineering, design, security, compliance, and operations teams to build scalable, reliable, and secure platform capabilities. You'll tackle complex, ambiguous problems where success is measured not only by what gets built, but by the reliability, flexibility, and long-term maintainability of the systems you create. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys systems thinking, solving foundational challenges, and building infrastructure that enables products and teams to scale effectively.

What You'll Do Define Platform Strategy & Roadmap Own the vision and roadmap for core platform capabilities, ensuring they support business objectives, product scalability, and future growth. Build Identity & Access Systems Design and evolve authentication, authorization, permissions, roles, and user management frameworks that balance security, flexibility, and usability. Develop Shared Platform Services Drive the development of foundational services, internal platforms, APIs, workflows, and infrastructure capabilities that enable product teams to build efficiently. Improve Reliability & Scalability Identify bottlenecks, architectural limitations, and operational risks, and work with engineering teams to create scalable and resilient systems. Drive Security & Compliance Partner with security, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure platform capabilities meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Lead Cross-Functional Execution Collaborate with engineering, design, data, operations, and business teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high-quality solutions. Use Data to Inform Decisions Define success metrics, analyze platform usage and performance, and leverage data to identify opportunities for improvement and long-term optimization.

What We're Looking For 4+ years of relevant experience in: Platform, infrastructure, enterprise software, SaaS, fintech, developer tools, identity, security, or other technically complex product environments. You have experience solving ambiguous, cross-functional problems and building foundational systems that support multiple products, teams, or customer workflows. Strong Systems Thinking You naturally think in systems, understand dependencies and trade-offs, and can anticipate the downstream impact of product decisions across a broader ecosystem. Technical Product Judgment You are comfortable discussing architecture, APIs, identity models, permissions frameworks, and technical trade-offs with engineering teams, even if you're not the deepest technical expert in the room. Data-Driven Decision Making You use data to validate assumptions, evaluate platform performance, and prioritize investments. You're comfortable investigating problems independently and translating insights into action. Exceptional Written Communication You can structure ambiguous problems, write clear product requirements, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ownership & Execution You thrive in environments with high ambiguity, take ownership of outcomes, and can drive initiatives from problem definition through delivery. Nice to Have
