Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager (Academic) to lead the strategy, planning, development and continuous improvement of academic products for the K-10 segment.

The role requires a strong combination of academic product thinking, program oversight and technology adoption.

The Product Manager will oversee the complete academic product lifecycle-from product planning to quality assurance, digital integration, launch and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate should be capable of looking at academic development as an end-to-end product.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Product Strategy & Planning

• Define and drive the academic product vision, strategy and development roadmap.
• Translate learner needs, curriculum requirements, market insights and organisational goals into scalable academic products.
• Conduct curriculum and product benchmarking to identify emerging pedagogical, technology and market trends.
• Develop clear project plans, milestones, timelines, resource requirements and quality benchmarks.

Academic Product Development & Quality

• Manage the end-to-end development of print and digital academic products.
• Guide SMEs, Curriculum Developers, Instructional Designers, Writers, Editors, Designers and Digital Content teams.
• Review products for academic accuracy, age appropriateness, instructional effectiveness, learner engagement and usability.
• Establish academic quality standards, review mechanisms, templates, guidelines and SOPs.
• Plan pilots, collect feedback from teachers and learners, and translate insights into product improvements.

AI & Education Technology

• Drive the effective use of Generative AI and emerging educational technologies across the academic product-development lifecycle.
• Use AI-enabled workflows for research, curriculum planning, lesson creation, assessments, differentiation, editing and quality checks.
• Evaluate new AI, EdTech and digital-learning tools for their relevance to K-10 education.
• Build responsible AI-assisted workflows with appropriate academic validation and human review.
• Enable and train academic teams to effectively use AI and technology to improve productivity and learning experiences.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor Curriculum Developers, Instructional Designers, SMEs and other academic team members.
• Set clear quality, productivity and delivery expectations.
• Build team capability in curriculum design, instructional design, AI tools, technology and academic product development.
• Develop scalable processes that improve efficiency, consistency and quality.

Candidate Profile

Experience

• 6-10+ years of relevant experience in academic product management, EdTech, or educational publishing, with demonstrated ownership of academic products for the K-10 segment.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end academic product development, from planning through quality assurance, digital integration and launch.
• Prior experience working as a Product Manager (or in an equivalent product-ownership role) on academic or learning products is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary academic/content teams (SMEs, content teams, digital content teams).
• Strong exposure to digital learning, EdTech tools and technology-enabled education.
• Hands-on experience driving Generative AI and emerging EdTech adoption within academic product workflows.

The ideal candidate should be able to balance learner experience, technology, quality, timelines and business priorities, while taking complete ownership from product concept to successful implementation and continuous improvement - ideally with prior experience leading academic products in a product management capacity.
