With a standalone boutique in Lower Parel and its head office in Dadar, Mumbai, UCUORO brings together contemporary design, refined craftsmanship, premium materials, and high-quality production.

We are looking for a Senior Furniture Designer who can translate creative concepts into technically viable, production-ready furniture designs and work closely with the production team to ensure design intent is maintained through execution.

Role Overview

The Senior Furniture Designer will be responsible for developing furniture designs from concept through detailed drawings and production. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of furniture design, materials, detailing, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.

Candidates with experience in premium/luxury furniture, lighting, interior products, or allied design industries are welcome, provided they have strong technical and product-development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and aesthetically refined furniture concepts in line with UCUORO's luxury design language.
• Convert concepts and sketches into detailed, production-ready designs.
• Prepare accurate AutoCAD drawings, technical details, elevations, sections, and working drawings.
• Create detailed 3D models and renders using 3ds Max.
• Use Photoshop for presentations, material/finish exploration, mood boards, and design communication.
• Work on furniture detailing, joinery, proportions, materials, finishes, hardware, and construction methods.
• Understand and apply knowledge of furniture manufacturing and production processes.
• Coordinate closely with production, vendors, craftsmen, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues during execution.
• Review prototypes and samples and suggest design/technical modifications where required.
• Ensure designs are practical, structurally sound, cost-conscious, and suitable for production without compromising aesthetics.
• Develop and maintain product specifications and technical documentation.
• Participate in material and finish selection and explore new materials, techniques, and manufacturing possibilities.
• Ensure consistency between approved designs, technical drawings, prototypes, and final production.
• Manage multiple projects and timelines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in furniture design/product design.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in 3ds Max for 3D modelling and visualization.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, joinery, finishes, and hardware.
• Practical knowledge of furniture production and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create detailed and accurate production drawings.
• Strong understanding of proportions, ergonomics, functionality, and aesthetics.
• Ability to take ownership of a product from concept to production.
• Strong attention to detail and an appreciation for luxury design and craftsmanship.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable moving between concept development, 3D visualization, technical detailing, and production coordination, while maintaining a high level of design sensitivity.
