Product Designer – Gloves

Role Description The Product Designer – Gloves role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jalandhar. The individual in this role will design and develop performance gloves for various sports, from initial concept through to production-ready specifications. Daily responsibilities include researching user needs and market trends, creating sketches and digital designs, selecting materials and constructions, and collaborating closely with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams. The Product Designer will prepare technical drawings and documentation, participate in fit and performance testing, and iterate designs based on feedback from athletes, coaches, and internal stakeholders. The role also involves coordinating with suppliers, ensuring designs meet cost, durability, and safety standards, and maintaining alignment with NIVIA’s brand and innovation strategy.

Qualifications

• Product design and industrial design skills, including concept development, sketching, and prototyping for sports gloves.
• Experience with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools relevant to product and pattern design.
• Knowledge of materials, textiles, and manufacturing processes for gloves and sports equipment.
• Ability to conduct user research, translate insights into design requirements, and iterate based on testing and feedback.
• Strong attention to detail in technical documentation, including specifications, measurements, and quality standards.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams in design, R&D, production, and marketing.
• Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion/Accessory Design, or a related field.
• Experience in sports equipment or performance wear design is highly desirable; familiarity with global sports trends is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site in Jalandhar, manage multiple projects, and meet design and production timelines.
