This Position reports to: Procurement Team Lead   Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Coordinates all procurement activities for Research and Development (R&D) projects. Responsible for estimating initial cost and quality, and achieving product cost and quality targets. Responsible for contracts negotiations and order finalization for Equipment and Software for Opex and Capex requirements. Works to find new potential materials or new potential suppliers for R&D requirements. Selects suppliers, with the support of business, in line with product cost requirements, future product footprint requirements, and procurement strategies, while ensuring sustainable quality and cost. On boarding the new suppliers into system Converting the Purchase requests to order and ensuring on-time delivery of the material / services by coordinating with the suppliers for each project, in alignment with the critical project development and testing plan. Works to optimize the cost at all stages of the procurement. Supports the development of new lower cost suppliers to meet the level required for sustainable quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications for the role:

Bachelor’s Degree in commerce / science 7 years of experience in Engineering Procurement Good SAP HANA and MS-Excel Knowledge. Good written and verbal communication skills Good analytical and interpersonal skills Experience in procurement of electromechanical components or manufacturing industry background will be an added advantage
