Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Vendor Management & Global Sourcing Specialist with strong expertise in supplier development, international procurement, vendor negotiations, and supply chain management. The candidate must have Japanese language proficiency with spoken Japanese skills to coordinate effectively with Japanese suppliers, stakeholders, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop domestic and international suppliers to support global sourcing requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships, supplier negotiations, pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with Japanese suppliers and stakeholders for sourcing, procurement, delivery schedules, and business discussions.
• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and performance reviews to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to optimize procurement costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Monitor purchase orders, lead times, inventory availability, and supplier delivery performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, production, quality, logistics, and finance.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and international sourcing procedures.
• Prepare sourcing reports, cost analysis, vendor performance metrics, and procurement documentation.
• Support supplier risk management and identify alternative sourcing opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management, global sourcing, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier development.
• Japanese language proficiency with mandatory spoken Japanese communication skills.
• Experience dealing with international suppliers, preferably Japanese vendors.
• Strong negotiation, vendor evaluation, cost analysis, and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain operations, and supplier performance management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement/ERP systems such as SAP or similar tools.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, industrial machinery, or machine-tool industries.
• Experience working with Japanese companies or Japanese manufacturing suppliers.
• Japanese language certification such as JLPT N2/N3 or equivalent practical proficiency.

Ideal Candidate: A vendor management or global sourcing professional with manufacturing/engineering procurement experience and the ability to communicate confidently in Japanese.
