Job Title: Procurement Specialist (EPC Projects Chemical & Pharmaceutical Plants)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of procurement experience in EPC projects, preferably within the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Semiconductor, or High-Tech Manufacturing sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete procurement lifecycle for engineered equipment, packages, materials, and services required for capital projects. The role demands extensive experience working with international suppliers, conducting supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, expediting activities, and managing global procurement packages from sourcing through delivery.

The candidate should possess a solid understanding of EPC procurement processes, supplier qualification, contract administration, commercial negotiations, logistics coordination, and supplier performance management. Experience working with SAP Ariba will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

• Execute end-to-end procurement activities for EPC projects from requisition through purchase order placement and closeout.
• Develop procurement strategies for assigned work packages and equipment categories.
• Manage RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, tendering activities, bid evaluations, and supplier selection processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, project controls, construction, and quality teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules.
• Prepare commercial bid tabulations and support technical-commercial evaluations.

Supplier Management

• Identify, qualify, and develop global supplier networks for engineered equipment and project materials.
• Lead supplier prequalification and due diligence activities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with international vendors and strategic suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing capacity, quality systems, and delivery performance.

Commercial Negotiation & Contracting

• Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty obligations, and contractual risks.
• Support preparation, review, and administration of purchase orders, supply agreements, and framework contracts.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and commercial governance standards.

Vendor Expediting & Project Execution

• Monitor supplier engineering, manufacturing progress, documentation, inspections, and deliveries.
• Coordinate expediting activities to ensure on-time equipment and material delivery.
• Participate in progress review meetings and engage suppliers to resolve schedule recovery issues.
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), inspections, and shipment readiness reviews.

Logistics & International Procurement

• Coordinate international shipments, customs requirements, import/export documentation, and logistics planning.
• Work closely with freight forwarders, logistics providers, and project teams to ensure timely delivery to project sites.
• Manage procurement risks associated with global supply chains.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Interface with project managers, engineering teams, construction teams, quality departments, and suppliers.
• Provide regular procurement reports, status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
• Support project procurement planning and forecasting activities.

Required Experience

Essential

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in EPC organizations.
• Proven experience supporting Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Process Plant projects.
• Strong understanding of project procurement lifecycle and source-to-contract processes.
• Experience with:
• Supplier sourcing and qualification
• RFQ/RFP management
• Commercial bid analysis
• Contract negotiations
• Expediting and supplier performance management
• Extensive experience dealing with international suppliers across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific regions.
• Demonstrated experience conducting vendor audits, supplier visits, manufacturing progress reviews, and plant inspections.

Desirable

• Experience working with SAP Ariba (Sourcing, Supplier Management, Contract Management, or Procure-to-Pay modules).
• Experience with SAP ERP or other enterprise procurement systems.
• Knowledge of supplier risk management and sustainability requirements.

Experience managing procurement activities for fast-track EPC projects.

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, manufacturing assessments, progress reviews, FATs, and commercial meetings at vendor offices and manufacturing facilities is highly preferred.
