Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive Procurement & Purchase Executive to manage the end-to-end purchasing process for construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely delivery, controlling procurement costs, and maintaining a reliable vendor network.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source construction materials, products, and services from reliable vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Raise purchase orders and ensure purchases are made as per approved requirements and budgets.
• Coordinate with project/site teams to understand material requirements and delivery timelines.
• Ensure on-time material delivery to avoid project delays.
• Monitor material availability and proactively prevent shortages.
• Track purchase orders, pending deliveries, and procurement status.
• Evaluate vendor quotations based on price, quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Monitor vendor performance and resolve quality, delivery, and commercial issues.
• Maintain proper purchase records, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and vendor details.
• Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and payment processing.
• Conduct market research to identify new vendors, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement is aligned with company policies, project requirements, and approved budgets.

Qualification

• Any Degree / Diploma in Purchase, Procurement, Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, real estate, infrastructure, or related industries preferred.

Preferred Candidate

• Experience handling construction material procurement
• Good knowledge of Chennai-based construction material vendors
• Strong vendor negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements simultaneously
• Proactive in identifying procurement risks and resolving delivery issues
