Procurement Manager

The Manager Procurement will lead the procurement and supply chain functions for solar EPC projects. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract negotiation, purchase planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely material availability for seamless project execution while maintaining strict quality and cost efficiency.

Role & responsibilities

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

• Develop and implement robust procurement strategies for utility-scale and rooftop solar EPC projects.
• Plan and procure core project assets and material including PV Modules, Inverters, Module Mounting Structures (MMS), HT/LT Panels, Transformers, Cables, SCADA, BOS materials, and civil items.
• Prepare comprehensive RFQs/RFPs, evaluate techno-commercial bids, and finalize supplier selections.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, and contractual conditions to drive cost optimization without compromising quality.

Vendor Management

• Cultivate and maintain a highly qualified vendor database.
• Conduct regular vendor evaluations, performance monitoring, and periodic audits.
• Build and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key global and domestic suppliers.
• Swiftly resolve supplier performance issues and ensure strict compliance with contractual commitments.

Supply Chain, Logistics & Inventory Management

• Prepare detailed procurement schedules aligned seamlessly with project execution milestones.
• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely dispatch, tracking, and delivery of materials to project sites.
• Monitor inventory levels, optimize stock, and coordinate with stores and site teams for material receipt, issuance, and reconciliation.
• Track slow-moving/non-moving stock to minimize excess inventory and material wastage.

Cross-Functional Support, Compliance & Risk Management

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Execution, Planning, Finance, and Stores teams to align timelines.
• Support tendering and estimation teams by obtaining highly competitive quotations during bidding phases.
• Prepare procurement budgets, monitor costs, and ensure absolute compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements.
• Maintain complete procurement records, review POs/contracts, and present monthly MIS reports.
• Identify supply chain vulnerabilities, establish alternate sourcing channels, and deploy risk-mitigation strategies.

Preferred candidate profile Required Qualifications

• Education: B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy.
• Preferred: MBA or Post Graduate Specialization in Supply Chain Management / Operations.

Experience & Industry Background

• 8 - 12 years of core procurement experience within Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Electrical Infrastructure, or Power Projects.
• Strong, demonstrated exposure handling procurement specifically for utility-scale and rooftop solar projects.

Technical Skills

• Thorough knowledge of Solar EPC materials, markets, and pricing benchmarks.
• Expert contract negotiation and strategic vendor onboarding skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or equivalent).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and MIS reporting.
