Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager with strong expertise in bulk material procurement and vendor management. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials in large quantities, identifying and developing reliable vendors, negotiating competitive prices, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery as per project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong market knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and experience handling high-volume procurement and multiple vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute bulk procurement of materials based on project and operational requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers and manufacturers.
• Source materials from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing and uninterrupted supply.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods and delivery schedules.
• Finalize vendors and commercial terms while ensuring optimum cost, quality and delivery.
• Issue and manage purchase orders and ensure adherence to agreed terms.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and develop alternate sources.
• Monitor market prices, availability and price fluctuations of key materials.
• Coordinate with internal teams to understand material specifications, quantities and delivery requirements.
• Track material dispatches and deliveries and resolve delays, shortages or quality-related issues.
• Ensure materials received are in accordance with approved specifications and quantities.
• Maintain proper procurement records, vendor databases, quotations, comparative statements and purchase documentation.
• Support cost-saving initiatives through bulk buying, rate contracts and strategic sourcing.
• Coordinate with accounts/finance teams regarding invoices, payments and vendor-related commercial matters.
• Ensure procurement is carried out in accordance with company policies and approved budgets.
• Develop and maintain a network of dependable vendors across different locations.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong experience in bulk/high-volume material procurement
• Excellent vendor identification and vendor development skills
• Strong price and commercial negotiation abilities
• Good knowledge of market rates and supplier networks
• Ability to handle large-value and high-volume purchase orders
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and documentation
• Good analytical and comparative evaluation skills
• Strong follow-up and coordination abilities
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and procurement requirements simultaneously
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement/purchase software

Qualification

• Graduate in any discipline; degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce, Engineering or a related field will be an advantage.
• 4- 8 years of relevant experience in bulk material procurement/purchase.
