About the Role

Austin Bazaar is seeking an experienced, analytical, and hands-on Procurement & E-Commerce Operations Manager to manage purchasing, inventory planning, replenishment, and procurement operations across multiple U.S. e-commerce channels, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and B2B.

This is not a traditional manufacturing or raw-material procurement position.

We are looking for someone with experience managing finished-goods procurement, inventory, vendors, SKUs, marketplace operations, and demand planning in an e-commerce, retail, distribution, or consumer-products environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong procurement and inventory-management experience with advanced Excel skills, e-commerce knowledge, process automation, and data-driven decision-making.

This position will also help transform manual procurement processes into scalable, automated workflows.

Austin Bazaar is a U.S.-based online retailer specializing in musical instruments, pro audio equipment, and accessories.

We sell across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and B2B channels and work with globally recognized brands including Fender, Roland, Casio, Yamaha, Boss, Pioneer, and others.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities including purchase planning, sourcing, vendor coordination, negotiations, purchasing, and replenishment.
• Create and manage purchase orders based on sales demand, inventory levels, lead times, channel requirements, and business priorities.
• Manage supplier and vendor relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, and other commercial terms.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing cost, availability, and vendor performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve purchasing and supply issues.
• Monitor purchasing requirements and identify risks before they result in stockouts or lost sales.

Inventory & Replenishment Planning

• Analyze sales velocity, stock levels, inventory health, demand trends, and replenishment requirements.
• Maintain appropriate inventory availability across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and other channels.
• Support demand forecasting and purchase planning across a large SKU portfolio.
• Identify stockout risks, excess inventory, slow-moving inventory, ageing inventory, and replenishment opportunities.
• Help improve inventory turnover while maintaining appropriate product availability.
• Coordinate inventory allocation based on channel demand and business priorities.
• Use data to determine what to purchase, how much to purchase, and when to purchase it.

E-Commerce & Marketplace Operations

• Support procurement and inventory planning for major online marketplaces.
• Understand how marketplace performance affects purchasing and replenishment decisions.
• Work with channels such as Amazon Seller Central / FBA, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, Shopify, or similar platforms.
• Monitor marketplace factors including sales velocity, fulfillment availability, Buy Box performance, promotions, pricing, and channel demand.
• Coordinate with Brand Management, Marketing, Content, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Engagement teams.
• Align purchasing plans with promotions, product launches, advertising activity, and seasonal demand.

Experience with Amazon and other major marketplaces is strongly preferred.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Use advanced Microsoft Excel to analyze purchasing, inventory, sales, and marketplace data.
• Build and maintain procurement trackers, inventory reports, forecasting models, dashboards, and management reports.
• Analyze large datasets and convert findings into clear purchasing and inventory recommendations.
• Track important procurement and inventory KPIs.
• Present inventory risks, procurement opportunities, and recommendations to leadership.

Process Improvement & Automation

A major responsibility of this role is improving how procurement work is performed.

The successful candidate should be comfortable identifying repetitive manual processes and developing more efficient workflows.

Responsibilities include:

• Map current procurement processes and identify inefficiencies.
• Automate repetitive reporting, data-management, and procurement activities.
• Build scalable workflows using tools such as:
• Advanced Excel
• VBA
• Google Sheets / Google Apps Script
• Power Automate
• Zapier
• APIs or similar automation tools
• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude for business analysis, reporting, process improvement, and workflow automation.
• Document processes and maintain accurate SOPs.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve procurement speed, accuracy, visibility, and accountability.

Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific examples of processes they have automated, including the business problem, solution implemented, and measurable impact.

Team & Project Management

• Manage procurement projects from planning through completion.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Procurement Specialists.
• Establish clear priorities, ownership, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of procurement activities.
• Work independently while coordinating closely with U.S. leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Promote accountability, accuracy, timely execution, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• 35+ years of relevant experience in procurement, purchase management, inventory management, e-commerce operations, marketplace operations, or supply planning.
• Experience purchasing or managing finished goods / resale inventory.
• Strong vendor-management and negotiation experience.
• Experience with purchase planning and inventory replenishment.
• Experience managing a significant number of products or SKUs.
• Experience analyzing sales and inventory data to make purchasing decisions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to work hours overlapping with U.S. business hours.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time remote position based in India.

Candidates must be comfortable working:

MondayFriday 2:00 PM11:00 PM IST depending on business requirements.

Regular communication with U.S.-based leadership and teams is required.
