Process Mining

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are building out a new Process Mining capability within our Business Process Engineering practice. Process mining is a data-driven discipline that uses event log data extracted from enterprise systems to visualise, analyse, and improve how business processes actually operate as opposed to how they are assumed to operate.
This role is designed for colleagues who have strong foundations in data engineering and data analysis and are looking to apply those skills in a new, high-growth domain.

What we need is someone who is comfortable working with data, can write SQL confidently, understands how enterprise systems store transactional data, and is curious about how business processes work.
You will be part of a small, high-impact team that works directly with business stakeholders from across the organisation to deliver process transparency, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements. This is a hands-on role with significant learning and growth potential.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Extract, transform, and prepare data from enterprise source systems (SAP, ServiceNow, and others) to build event logs which is the foundational data structure for process mining analysis.
Write and optimise SQL queries to pull transactional data, join across tables, handle data quality issues, and structure output for process mining tools.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to define extraction requirements, validate data quality, and troubleshoot issues in source data.
Perform data cleansing, deduplication, timestamp standardisation, and activity mapping to ensure event logs accurately reflect business processes.
Support the analysis of process mining outputs including process models, variant analysis, bottleneck identification, and KPI measurement under the guidance of the Process Mining Manager.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports that communicate process insights to business stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
Participate in stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions to understand business processes and translate them into data requirements.
Document data sources, transformation logic, event log schemas, and analytical methodologies to build a reusable knowledge base for the practice.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must Have:
Strong working knowledge of SQL. You should be comfortable writing complex queries involving joins, subqueries, window functions, CTEs, and aggregations.
Hands-on experience with data manipulation and transformation whether through SQL, Python, Power Query, or similar tools.
Understanding of relational databases and how enterprise systems (particularly ERPs) store transactional data.
Experience working with large datasets and an ability to identify and resolve data quality issues such as missing values, duplicates, inconsistent formats, and timestamp problems.
Analytical mindset. You can look at data and ask the right questions, not just run queries.
Clear communication skills. You will need to explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a data-related role (data analyst, data engineer, BI developer, MIS analyst, or similar).

Good to Have:
Experience with any process mining tool (Celonis, UiPath Process Mining, Microsoft Power Automate Process Mining, Signavio, Disco, or similar).
Familiarity with SAP table structures, particularly in finance or procurement domains (BKPF, BSEG, EKKO, EKPO, VBAK, etc.).
Experience with Python for data manipulation (Pandas, PySpark).
Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Understanding of business process management concepts or BPMN notation.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory) is a plus.
