About this role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Printing Machine Operator (or skilled technician with a background in the printing and packaging industry) to manage day-to-day press operations. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial digital printing machinery, ensuring high-quality print output, color accuracy, and efficient material handling across various substrates.
Key Responsibilities
* Machine Operation: Setup, calibrate, and operate industrial digital printing equipment (roll-to-roll / flatbed press) efficiently.
* Pre-Press & File Verification: Review print files, check layout specs, color modes, and artwork alignment prior to job runs.
* Substrate & Material Handling: Load and handle various printing media (films, paper, non-woven, or specialty substrates), ensuring proper tension, web control, and ink adhesion.
* Quality Control: Inspect output continuously during print runs for color consistency, registration, banding, and surface flaws.
* Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform routine daily/weekly preventive maintenance (cleaning printheads, replacing consumables, topping up ink systems) and diagnose basic mechanical or software glitches.
* Production Workflow: Maintain job logs, monitor material usage/wastage, and meet daily production targets safely and on schedule.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience operating digital, flexo, or screen printing machinery in a commercial or packaging setup.
* Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of print resolution, RIP software (Raster Image Processor), color management, and substrate properties.
* Troubleshooting: Ability to identify print defect root causes (e.g., clogged nozzles, misalignment, static issues) and perform quick adjustments.
* Physical & Detail Focus: Strong attention to detail, good color vision, and the physical stamina to lift material rolls and stand during production shifts.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
* Prior experience with industrial inkjet heads, water-based or specialized inks, or roll-to-roll continuous printing.
* Knowledge of pre-press tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW).
* Technical diploma or vocational certification in Printing Technology or Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance.Role & responsibilities
