Job Summary

• Own the architecture. Set the technical direction for multi-tenant, globally distributed systems that process billions of security events.
• Make the one-way-door calls on data models, service boundaries, and platform primitives.
• Solve the unsolved. Take ambiguous, high-stakes problems real-time correlation at petabyte scale, sub-second graph queries, zero-downtime multi-region failover from whiteboard to production.
• Raise the engineering bar. Set the standard for design reviews, code quality, observability, and on-call excellence.
• Mentor senior engineers into principal-caliber thinkers.
• Build AI-native. Treat LLMs and agents as first-class citizens of the stack both in the product (agentic SOAR, threat reasoning, copilots) and in how we build (AI-assisted development, vibe coding, eval-driven iteration).
• Ship 10x faster without shipping 10x bugs.
• Master the data. Model complex security telemetry across relational, document, graph, vector, and time-series stores. Tune the queries nobody else can tune.
• Wield Kubernetes like a weapon. Design the platform so a 10x customer load is a config change, not a rewrite.
• Be opinionated, not precious. Pick the boring tech when its right. Pick the bleeding edge when it wins. Defend both with data.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years building production software, with meaningful time as a tech lead, staff, or principal in a high-growth startup or a team that behaves like one.
• Architects mindset. You zoom from a CRD controller to a customer SLO to a board slide in the same meeting.
• You design for 10x, not for today.
• Deep distributed systems chops. Consistency trade-offs, backpressure, idempotency, partitioning, and failure modes are your native language.
• Kubernetes at real scale. Operators, multi-cluster, service mesh, cost and performance tuning not just kubectl apply.
• Database depth across paradigms. Strong in PostgreSQL or MySQL at scale, plus working mastery of a NoSQL, search (Elastic/OpenSearch), graph (Neo4j/JanusGraph), or vector store.
• Youve hunted down an N+1 at 3 AM and enjoyed it.
• Modern language fluency. Go and/or Python in production; comfortable reading anything.
• Clean, testable, observable code is non-negotiable.
• AI-native engineer. You use Claude / Cursor / Copilot / agentic tools daily to outperform engineers who don. You know where vibe coding shines and where its dangerous and you teach the team the difference.
• Cloud-native at heart. AWS (or GCP/Azure) in depth. IAM, networking, cost, reliability.
• Terraform is muscle memory.
• Security instinct. Threat modeling, secure-by-default design, and zero-trust patterns are part of how you think before anyone asks.
• Sharp. Fast. Hungry. Youd rather ship, measure, and iterate than debate. You work hard because the problems are worth it not because someone is watching.
