Level 6 will lead the technical development and delivery at Team, Lab and sometimes platform level. They can be a Line Manager who will act as co-lead with the Team PO for overall delivery. In these cases, they will be responsible for overall tech delivery, line management app ownership alongside their own software engineering output. Others will operate as Individual Contributors, who are specialist experts in particular technology areas and will be narrower and deeper in focus, providing technology leadership, mentoring and guidance.

The Platforms purpose is to create a leading experience to help our customers before, during and after financial difficulty. You can ensure we help them become more financially resilient and improve their overall financial wellbeing.
We aim to achieve this purpose through improving colleague tools, creating tools to allow customers to better handle their day-to-day finances, and by simplifying the Customer Financial Assistance (CFA) systems through an increased focus on Automation, DevOps, Cloud technologies and Rationalisation. Our aim is to generate a forward-thinking agile culture that supports CFA in delivering high quality, efficient and positive impact outcomes for our customers.
As a Software Engineer with LTC you ll be encouraged to work as part of an agile team to guide and implement technical solutions. It will be your responsibility to help promote sound engineering practices and to work alongside team members to architect, design, and implement those solutions. Our team uses Git to manage most of the source code, and SonarQube to help monitor code quality. Jira and Confluence are used heavily for task management and documentation. This is a leadership role where you will have direct line management accountability for multiple teams. You will help build the collective capability of our platform community and improve collaboration and cross team learning in order to deliver on our Transformation technology vision by making it a great place to work where our colleagues feel valued, included and empowered to be the best versions of themselves.

- Has established experiences partnering with other collaborators such as Enterprise, Security, Data Infrastructure architects to create customer value or address business problems.
- Holds proficient experiences leading activities associated with Architectural Governance, Risk Management or Compliance processes.
- Has appreciation for Architectural Frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, Software patterns or similar.
- Understands how where third party products could be appropriate, knowledge of technology purchasing processes best practise.
- Be a technical leader both within your team and outside, coaching and/or mentoring other engineers as appropriate.
- Work with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Labs, through defining a strategy and designing solutions to deliver our target cloud architecture.
- Capable technical leader, who takes ownership of design and delivery and is willing to help grow and guide junior engineers towards appropriate target architectures.
- Strong architecture skills with a good working knowledge of microservice design patterns, containerised applications, infrastructure as code in containerised environments, embedding DevSecOps principles to support delivery at scale and designing solutions at scale.

Required Skills
You will have skillsets to cover below as a minimum;
- Experienced with the full software development lifecycle and relevant frameworks
- A proven track record of the Spring boot and / or Quarkus frameworks, Git workflows, testing (TDD, Mock object), and DevOps toolchains
- Designing and developing Microservices using Sprint Boot, Quarkus and Reacting programming with Spring Boot
- Java and J2EE development expertise, Databases RDBMS and NO-SQL
- Strong programming skills with a good working knowledge of modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, such as ReactJS, Redux, Webpack and modern toolsets like test automation, Kubernetes and Jenkins
- Experience with REST APIs
- Experience of microservice and micro front-end design, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Cloud Deployment experience
- Phenomenal teamwork and communication skills as well as team leader/mentoring experience
- Experienced in building and deploying microservices with strong debugging experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, Quarkus, Databases and GCP cloud.
- Expertise in tools such as Dynatrace, CI/CD, GCP cloud deployment, Curl, and Postman.
- Hands on in Kubernetes and Docker. Preferable to have exposure to Terraform, Istio and Helm charts.
- Work with the DevOps tools team to develop for microservices deployment with CICD pipelines.
- Experience with Releases and deployments to production, troubleshooting in production.
- Experience with messaging and integration frameworks like JMS, MQ, and Kafka.
- Analyses and evaluates the feasibility/relevance of proposals for complex products/services. Develops and amends as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Ability to initiate and implement ideas to solve business problems.
- Ability to multi-task and also work independently to meet the committed deadlines.
- Identifies and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Leadership skills with experience of managing multiple teams
- Manages the development and/or operation of knowledge management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
