Principal iOS Engineer

We are looking for a Principal iOS Engineer who will take ownership of the technical architecture, development, scalability, and performance of our iOS applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Swift, iOS SDK, SwiftUI/UIKit, and experience designing and building large-scale mobile applications. This role requires someone who can operate at an architectural level while still being hands-on with development.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable iOS applications using Swift.
• Define and drive iOS application architecture, technical standards, and best practices.
• Lead technical decisions around application design, scalability, performance, and security.
• Build reusable and maintainable components and frameworks.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams.
• Identify and resolve complex performance, memory, concurrency, and stability issues.
• Drive code quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor and guide senior engineers and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
• Evaluate new iOS technologies and introduce them where they provide business or engineering value.
• Take ownership of critical technical initiatives and deliver solutions for complex engineering problems.

Requirements:

• Someone who is not just a strong iOS developer but can act as a technical authority for the mobile engineering team, driving architecture, solving complex problems, influencing engineering decisions, and building scalable iOS products.

Must-Have Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in iOS application development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Swift and iOS SDK.
• Strong experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Excellent understanding of iOS architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, or similar architectural approaches.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, networking, and third-party SDK integrations.
• Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and UI testing.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale consumer or enterprise iOS applications.
• Strong problem-solving and technical leadership skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience developing iOS frameworks/SDKs.
• Exposure to modular architecture and reusable components.
• Experience with Swift Concurrency / async-await.
• Knowledge of Combine.
• Experience with mobile security and application performance monitoring.
• Experience working in a product-based organization.
• Strong experience mentoring senior/principal-level engineers.
