Principal Engineer

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Technical Vision:

• Define long-term architecture for core platform services.
• Drive technology strategy across multiple engineering organizations.
• Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and platform investments.
• Create engineering standards adopted company-wide.

Architecture Leadership:

• Design highly scalable, resilient, distributed systems.
• Lead modernization of legacy platforms.
• Establish patterns for APIs, event-driven systems, observability, and reliability.
• Guide architecture reviews across multiple teams.

Platform Ownership:

• Lead one or more strategic technical areas, including AI Voice Platform Real-time conversational AI infrastructure.
• Streaming ASR LLM TTS pipelines.
• Voice agent orchestration. AI evaluation frameworks.
• Latency optimization. Integrations Platform Connector framework.
• SDK architecture. Eventing infrastructure.
• Webhook reliability. API versioning. Platform observability.

Core Platform Modernization:

• Monolith decomposition.
• Service migration strategies.
• Database optimization.
• Platform scalability. Reliability engineering. CI/CD modernization.

Engineering Leadership:

• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers.
• Drive technical decision-making across organizations.
• Lead multi-quarter engineering initiatives.
• Improve engineering culture and technical quality. Influence hiring and technical growth.
