Job Title: Principal Engineer - Frontend

Job Purpose: The Principal Engineer (Frontend) autonomously oversees the entire lifecycle of highly complex user-facing projects, applications, and features—encompassing architectural design, development, and deployment. Serving as the ultimate authority for frontend systems, UI infrastructure, and client-side design decisions, this role balances hands-on technical excellence with cross-team modernization initiatives, engineering governance, and developer mentorship.

Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead the architectural design and structural evolution of scalable, low-latency, and highly performant frontend applications. Enforce clean, reusable code structures to promote testability and maintainability across teams.

Tech Modernization & Strategy: Challenge the technical status quo. Propose and execute UI automation, tooling upgrades, and technical modernization initiatives while aligning frontend strategies with broader business goals.

Delivery & Trade- off Management: Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and Senior Tech Leads to decompose high-level requirements into viable MVPs. Make critical prioritization decisions by balancing scope, speed, technical debt, and long-term quality.

Governance & Documentation: Own the documentation ecosystem for the frontend domain, ensuring the evolution of design and architecture is rigorously recorded through RFCs and ADRs. Assist enterprise architecture teams with technical governance and compliance.

Risk & Performance Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve client-side bottlenecks, cross-component dependencies, and security vulnerabilities (SAST/DAST) flagged in the delivery pipeline. Tune applications for optimal performance, accessibility, and state management.

Mentorship & Talent Growth: Provide individual technical mentoring to fellow engineers on advanced frontend paradigms, development standards, and design patterns. Actively participate in interviewing and hiring top engineering talent.

Technical Qualifications Experience: 8–12+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record of owning end-to-end delivery and system design in a distributed architecture.

Core Frontend Expertise: Deep proficiency in Angular (v10+), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Strong mastery of Angular frameworks (components, services, routing), RxJS, responsive design, and state management (NgRx or similar).

Performance & Optimization: Expert-level knowledge in frontend performance tuning, client-side caching mechanisms, and building high-frequency, low-latency web applications.

Backend Integration: Solid understanding of Java (Spring Boot preferred), RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture to ensure seamless, JSON-based communication and data exchange between frontend and backend systems.

CI/CD & Infrastructure: Proficient in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment automation, Git version control, and containerized deployments using tools like Helm/Kustomize on Kubernetes.

Monitoring & Security: Hands-on experience with application monitoring, logging dashboards, end-to-end tracing, and client-side security practices (Authn/Authz, TLS, secure token handling).

Methodologies: Advanced application of Agile/Scrum/XP SDLC practices, code review methodologies, and comprehensive unit/integration testing (Jasmine, Karma, JUnit, Mockito).

Desired Adaptations: Exposure to modern cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging middleware (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Experience or background within the high-volume Betting and Gaming industry.
