Principal Application Software Engineer

Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. Who are we looking for
We are seeking a hands-on Principal Member of Technical Staff Engineer who shares our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale using cloud native best practices. You will have part in the disruption of the health care industry and will help deliver better patient care.
As a PMTS on our team, you'll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.
Job Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.
• Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs and ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
• Solid practical understanding of software development process expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
• Strong skills to evaluate product performance metrics, as well as to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Experience in leading technical design discussions and ability to summarize complex trade-offs and options in presentation and technical documentation.
• Ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership.
• Aptitude to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.
• Balancing work as a lead individual contributor with providing direction and mentoring to others.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of developing and shipping cloud infrastructure services or SaaS applications.
• Strong system design fundamentals and distributed systems architecture best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java or similar OO languages.
• Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Work with modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, Angular, and Bootstrap
• Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS degree in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.
• Experience in the healthcare industry and / or electronic medical records systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OCI or AWS IaaS, SaaS and PaaS services.
