Principal AI Scientist

We are seeking a Principal AI Scientist to lead cutting-edge AI research and translate scientific breakthroughs into production-ready technologies. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for advancing the organizations AI capabilities through original research, experimentation, and technical leadership.

The ideal candidate has a strong academic background, an established publication record, and extensive experience building state-of-the-art AI systems across large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, agentic AI, reinforcement learning, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead original AI research aligned with the companys long-term technology vision.
• Design and develop novel machine learning algorithms and AI architectures.
• Stay at the forefront of advances in AI and evaluate emerging techniques for practical adoption.
• Publish research in leading AI conferences and journals where appropriate.
• File patents and contribute to the companys intellectual property portfolio.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to transition research into scalable production systems.
• Mentor AI scientists and research engineers, fostering scientific excellence.
• Define research roadmaps, technical standards, and experimentation methodologies.
• Represent the company through technical talks, publications, conferences, and collaborations with academic institutions.
• Conduct rigorous experimentation, benchmarking, and model evaluation to ensure scientific validity and measurable business impact.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, Robotics, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated record of published papers in leading AI conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, IJCAI).
• Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and modern AI architectures.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with one or more AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Proven experience developing and evaluating large-scale AI models.
• Strong understanding of model optimization, distributed training, and scalable AI infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with foundation models, LLMs, multimodal AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, or reinforcement learning.
• Experience with distributed GPU training and high-performance computing environments.
• Track record of patents or open-source contributions.
• Experience leading cross-functional research initiatives.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience supervising or mentoring research scientists.
